Street Food Cinema: Summer Movies in the Park

Summer is just around the corner and with that comes Saturday night movies in the park. Since 2012, Street Food Cinema has been taking this summertime classic to a whole new level. Besides playing cult classic films in the park, they’re adding local food carts & bands to the mix.

The movie nights begin in June with “The Wedding Singer” & “Donnie Darko” and ending in October with “Shaun of the Dead” and “Nightmare on Elm Street”. Other movies on the schedule include E.T., Superbad, Back to the Future, and Mean Girls. The ratings range from PG to R.

Each Street Food Cinema event boasts a performance from a local band before the movie. There are 83 different food truck vendors participating this summer, and every night has at least 10 different options to choose from. Some participating vendors consist of Cousin’s Main Lobster, The Grilled Cheese Truck, and India Jones.

You can also of course make this night a picnic and pack your own meal!  Small coolers are allowed into the event.

Locations vary each weekend and there are two options each Saturday night from June to October. Victory Park in Pasadena, Glendale’s Central Park, and Poinsettia Recreation Park in West Hollywood are some of the chosen locations for this summer.

Tickets can be purchased online in advance, with tickets at the door costing $3 more. General Admission adult tickets are $12 online and Reserved tickets at $17 online.  Purchasing tickets in advance is recommended as some nights will sell out! If you buy your tickets in advance, you can either print your tickets or keep them on your smart phone.
